Title TEM Asbestos Analysis at EMSL
Introduction NVLAP Accredited TEM Asbestos Labs across the USA and Canada

Advanced Transmission Electron Microscopy for Asbestos Analysis

EMSL Analytical, Inc. provides Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) asbestos testing services for environmental consultants, industrial hygienists, asbestos professionals, remediation contractors, building owners, government agencies, schools and other organizations requiring detailed asbestos analysis.

TEM is one of the most powerful analytical techniques available for the identification and characterization of asbestos fibers. Unlike Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM), TEM can distinguish asbestos fibers from many non-asbestos fibers and can detect fibers that may be too small to be resolved using conventional optical microscopy.

EMSL provides TEM asbestos analysis for air, bulk materials, dust, surface samples, water and other sample types, depending on the analytical method and project requirements.

TEM Asbestos Air Testing

EMSL offers TEM asbestos air sample analysis for a variety of applications, including:

  • Post-abatement air clearance
  • AHERA clearance testing
  • Indoor air investigations
  • Ambient air monitoring
  • Asbestos remediation projects
  • Building renovation and demolition projects
  • Operations and maintenance programs
  • Environmental investigations
  • Asbestos contamination assessments
  • Special project and litigation support

For projects requiring asbestos identification at very low fiber dimensions, TEM provides analytical capabilities beyond those available from PCM.

Who Uses TEM Asbestos Laboratories?

TEM asbestos testing services are used by a wide range of professionals and organizations, including:

  • Environmental consulting companies
  • Industrial hygienists
  • Asbestos inspectors
  • Asbestos management planners
  • Abatement contractors
  • General contractors
  • Engineering firms
  • Property management companies
  • School districts
  • Universities
  • Hospitals and healthcare facilities
  • Government agencies
  • Insurance companies
  • Restoration contractors
  • Commercial property owners
  • Facility managers
  • Attorneys and expert witnesses

Whether the project involves asbestos air clearance, environmental contamination, building materials, settled dust or specialized asbestos identification, selecting an experienced TEM laboratory is an important part of obtaining reliable analytical data.

Why Choose EMSL for TEM Asbestos Testing?

EMSL Analytical has provided laboratory testing services since 1981 and offers extensive asbestos testing capabilities.

Our asbestos analytical services include:

  • Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM)
  • Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM)
  • Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM)
  • Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM)
  • Scanning Transmission Electron Microscopy (STEM)
  • X-Ray Diffraction (XRD)

EMSL maintains laboratories and analytical capabilities serving customers throughout the United States and Canada. EMSL's asbestos laboratories analyze air, bulk materials, soil, dust, water and other environmental samples using applicable EPA, NIOSH, OSHA, ASTM and other methodologies.
